Savannah was established in 1733 on the Savannah River. A strategic port city in the American Revolution and during the American Civil War. Another place off my list of american states to visit. One of the best parts of being in Savannah was the food, the other was watching the sun set over the Savannah river.
This is truly one of the prettiest of islands. It truly is like a garden, with a varied landscape and beautiful beaches accompanied by amazing sunsets. Did I forget to tell you that they say Haleakela is the world’s most beautiful sunrise. I tried to capture that, I really tried, but it was difficult at sub zero temperatures and wind speeds of at least 20-30 mph. We also made a day trip out of the super windy road to Hana. The one thing I learned was even though its only about 50 miles to get to Hana and then drive to a few places beyond it, leave early cause there is way too many things to see and the traffic really builds up.
Once you reach Big Island you now truly feel like you are now on an island. Just an enormous island. We decided the best way to explore the island was to do an all day tour as well as drive all around the island. This island is one of the most unique places you can go to, it has 11 of the world’s 13 eco-systems, all on one island. Also did I forget to mention volcanoes.
This was our first stop in Hawaii, It is the capital of all the islands and gives one the mixed feeling of living on an island as well as in a Big City. My stay here was brief, but it was amazing. I can’t wait to get back to this place.
My trip to Portland with my wife was absolutely memorable, within 3 days we managed to cram in as many places we could go see. From the Japanese Garden to taking a drive all along the first scenic Highway in America.

I thought it would be a fun hike, and initially it was. It got difficult around the 10th mile. Thankfully the entire hike ended on mile 13. To celebrate the hike I went to Hu Kitchen and celebrated with a Paleo fest.
